Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, at Puy-deDomme, France on the 9th of August 1976. Audrey is the largest child among four children. Since a young age, both her dental doctor parents as well as her teacher mom supported her love of theatre and drama. This passion that trumps her first desire to be the first primatologist. The early success of her career and the rapid rise in fame marked her as a young actor. When she finished her education She was a part of the French television show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers which was backed by Canal+. She won the award for the best young Actress award at Beziers Festival of Young Actors and started her career as an actress. Although she studied at the Institut Catholique de Paris and was a member of the church during her childhood, Tautou has distanced herself from this upbringing, stating she's not Catholic. Along with her acting career she also pursued a modelling career. Also, she is the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and is sometimes referred to as the Chanel Muse. Photography is another passion and she recently exhibited her work in the Arles festival under the name Superficial. Her photographs are largely about fame and celebrity. They also feature self-portraits as well. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and international fame with her first big role, starring in the role of the film Le Fabuleux Destin de l'Amelie Poulain. Amelie was recognized internationally due to its success at the box office. It also received praise in award ceremonies all over the world. Amelie is the most successful film that is French-speak in the US. The popularity of the film brought Tautou into a wide range of roles, ranging from British dramas such as Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
